KUCHING: Hope Place Kuching, a charitable non-governmental organisation (NGO), recently provided assistance to a disabled lady at her home in Kampung Panglima Seman.

Asmah Roselin, 43, had fallen on hard times since her second leg was amputated last year, causing her health to deteriorate even worse due to her heart disease.

Hope Place Kuching is currently supporting her with nutritional food items such as instant oats and adult diapers.

According to the NGO, Asmah is also waiting for social welfare financial aid and another prosthetic leg.

“Asmah who used to be a cook had her first leg amputated in 2019 due to diabetes. Back then, she had received a prosthetic leg and she was able to lead a normal life. However, after her second leg was amputated last year, she stopped working. She is currently living with her siblings and an elderly uncle who is also physically disabled,” said the NGO in a press statement yesterday.

Her daughter sometimes visits and helps around, but this is limited due to her having her own family.
