MIRI: The Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) personnel took about half an hour to destroy a hornet’s nest, the size of lorry’s tyre at a secondary school in Lutong near here on Wednesday night.
APM District Officer, Captain Mohd Hazle Shah Abdul Hamid said he received a call from a teacher of the school who requested APM to help destroy the hornet’s nest.
“Following the call, three APM personnel were dispatched to the school and they managed to destroy the hornet’s nest about half an hour later,” he said in a statement here.
Mohd Hazle said the nest was successfully destroyed by spraying insecticide and setting it on fire. According to him, the operation went smoothly and concluded at 9pm.
