KUCHING: The Tabung Ekonomi Gagasan Anak Sarawak (Tegas) Digital Village at Sama Jaya High Tech Park here will be equipped with a hostel soon.

Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg said the Sarawak government agreed to a proposal made by Tegas chairman Datuk Len Talif Salleh on the facility.

“We are going to build the hostel as we have been receiving many visits from students recently, including those from outside Sarawak.

“The hostel allows them to stay here as well as continue their programmes by visiting and gaining exposure from the factories here, which are high-tech industries, in Sama Jaya,” he told the media after the Shell LiveWIRE Sarawak 2022 Awards at Tegas Digital Village on Wednesday (Dec 7).

“Besides the hostel, we will also develop a recreational area too as we still have a large area to be developed.”

Earlier, Abang Johari said students could have the opportunity to visit factories such as LONGi Kuching, which produces solar panels; Taiyo Yuden, which produces transmitters in electronics, and many others in the area.
