KUCHING: Meritin Hotel Kuching staff members have been carrying out charity drive through Hope Place since end of last year.

According to a statement from Hope Place, the staff would collect donations from among themselves on a monthly basis.

The donations included useable second-hand items such as clothes, books, electrical appliances and bath towels.

The staff would sell these items and from the sale proceeds they would buy foodstuff such as rice, biscuits, noodles, coffee and sugar which they would pass on to Hope Place.

Hope Place is happy to form such a relationship with caring donors like the staff of Meritin Hotel and welcomes others who would want to donate in the same manner.

“Only with continuous support from caring public that agencies like Hope Place would be able to reach out to the poor and needy,” the statement said.

Currently, Hope Place takes care of more than 190 needy families.

Hope Place can be reached at 082505987.
