DARO and Matu District Police Headquarters (IPD) are in poor condition and no longer suitable for the areas. Shafiee Ahmad (GPS-Daro) (pic) revealed that the headquarters can no longer cope with the increasing number of police officers over time.

“Thus, I hope the federal government will pay attention and take action as well as allocate some funds for us to build new headquarters for the IPD in Daro and Matu areas.” Shafiee said this when debating on the state Budget 2020 in the august House, yesterday.

The assemblyman also noted that there are 16 primary schools and one secondary school in Daro. “More than half of the schools are in poor and dilapidated conditions especially those in the coastal areas,” he added.

He noted that Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg has allocated some funds to channel electricity grid to 128 schools and supply clean water to 41 schools in the state under the Budget 2020.

“If the federal government does not implement development or allocate similar funds for the dilapidated schools in my area, I hope the state government will consider upgrading the schools.”
