Jalur Gemilang a symbol of love and unity

BALINGIAN: More than 200 SJK Chung Hua students, parents and the local community came together for the Jalur Gemilang Merdeka Campaign (KMJG) here yesterday.

The ceremony jointly organised by the Information Department (JaPen)  and SJK Chung Hua was officiated by the Administrative Officer of the Balingian Sub-District Office, Dominic Ahjun.

“Malaysia Madani: The Determination of Unity Fulfils Hope (Tekad Perpaduan Penuhi Harapan) was chosen as the theme for this year’s National Day and Malaysia Day (HKHM) celebrations,” he said.

“This underpins the determination of the leaders and the people to ensure Malaysia is a nation with a high spirit of unity, peace and prosperity.”

He called on all quarters to be proud to fly the Jalur Gemilang to show the spirit of love and patriotism for the country.

“The Jalur Gemilang symbolises our loyalty and unity as Malaysians.

“Therefore, let’s put up flags on homes, office premises and business buildings,” he said.

Among the programmes held were the Chung Hua Fun Run, the Merdeka Quiz, the distribution of the Jalur Gemilang flags and the distribution of JaPEN’s publications, the sales stall and the singing of patriotic songs as well as the SJK Chung Hua Balingian Open Day.
