Jamit announces RM33,000 grant for kindergarten

KAPIT: State Assemblyman for Bukit Goram , Jefferson Jamit Unyat yesterday announced a government grant amounting to RM33,000 for Board of Management Tadika Methodist Private Kapit.

Of the allocation, RM6,000 is for administrative purpose of the Board of Management Tadika Methodist Private Kapit while RM27,000 is meant for the purchase of furniture such as white boards, chairs and desks for the six new classrooms. Each class could accommodate between 25 and 30 kindergarten pupils. The kindergarten has ten tutors and has an enrolment of some 240 kindergarten pupils.

He made the announcement to coincide with the opening ceremony of the new double-story concrete classroom block of Tadika Methodist Private Kapit located next to SK Methodist Jalan Memora recently. Officiating at the opening ceremony of the new building was the Deputy Minister Rural and Regional Development Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi who has provided the funding and allocation for the construction of the new kindergarten classroom building.

In his remark at the function Jamit called on the kindergarten to maintain high standard for being a centre of early childhood learning institution.

“The kindergarten must maintain a high standard and good reputation to attract parents to enrol their children to the kindergarten,” said the assemblyman and advised the Board of Management to charge affordable tuition fees for the kindergarten kids.
