Jobless man remanded for drugs

BAU: An unemployed man was arrested for possessing drugs in a house at Jalan Krokong, Kampung Blimbin on Friday (Aug 7).

Bau district police chief DSP Poge Nyaon said a team from Bau Narcotics Crime Investigation Division (NCID) raided the unnumbered house around 10.10am and was greeted at the door by a 32-year-old man.

“The team conducted a body inspection and found nothing on the man.

“Further inspection inside the house led to a finding of a small plastic packet containing drug powders suspected to be methamphetamine,” he said in a statement.

He noted that the item weighing at 0.39g with a street value of RM50 was found on the living room table in the man’s house.

Poge added that the man, who has no criminal record, was tested positive for drugs.

The man will be remanded to facilitate investigations under Section 12 (2) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
