KUCHING: This year 2018 is a historic year for the Sarawak Land and Survey Department (JTS) as it celebrated its centenary yesterday (1 February), said a press release. In conjunction with its 100 years of establishment JTS is holding various monthly events for all the 12 divisional offices throughout this year.
These will be highlighted with a special event in July to be graced by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Johari Tun Datuk Abang Openg who is expected to be present and guest-of-honour at the official opening of Innovation and Integrity of the department or Majlis Perasmian Hari Inovasi dan Integriti (HITTS).
During the event, the Chief Minister will launch various quality initiatives in relation to the operations of JTS towards the realisation of digital economy.
The thanksgiving ceremony for the 100 years of JTS establishment was held yesterday at its headquarters in Menara Pelita, Petra Jaya Kuching.
Held at 2.30pm yesterday, the event was a soft opening gimmick or all the planned programmes in 2018. JTS Director Sr Zaidi bin Haji Mahdi officiated at the thanksgiving in the presence of all senior staff as well as other officers of the department.
