SEBUYAU: Corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes bring corporate organisations closer to the community, said Utility and Telecommunication Minister Datuk Seri Julaihi Narawi.

He said they go beyond the usual activities of a corporate organisation and involve efforts such as communal activities.

The Sebuyau assemblyman, who was present during the ‘Siney Siney’ PETROS programme in Sebangan, hoped that such programmes would be continued and cover other areas in Sarawak as well in the future.

“If not, the local community will only know PETROS by name, not its true essence.

“Siney Siney PETROS will also be broadcast for special programmes in conjunction with the Gawai celebration with the community in selected locations around Sarawak and broadcast live on Radio Television Malaysia (RTM) Facebook social media, RTM Sarawak radio, as well as on RTM Regional News,” he added.

He said this during the programme at Masjid Darul Aman here last night.

Following that, he welcomed those present to break fast.

Also present were PETROS vice president (Human capital and Relations) Ismail Said, PETROS senior vice president of Corporate Strategy Abang Arabi Abang Narudin, SARAWAKfm manager Noraini Ibrahim, and Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Utility and Telecommunication Ministry Syed Mohamad Fauzi Shahab.
