Kabong’s RM3m High Level Tank 95 pct ready

KABONG: High Level Tank upgrading project worth RM3 million at the Water Treatment Plant in Kabong and Nyabor area is 95 per cent ready and will be fully functional at the end of this May.

Kabong State Assemblyman Mohd Chee Kadir said, when the upgrading project is completed, it will be able to process a capacity of 0.3 million litres water a day.

“Indirectly, it will be able to accommodate a total of 14,000 households in addition to meet the additional demand of the population in Kabong area in the future,” he said.

Meanwhile, according to him, two Air Pressure Booster Station (Online Booster Station) worth RM998,520 also will be completed at the end of May at Kabong and also at the Kampung Nyabor junction to stabilise the water pressure to the surrounding area.

“This is our approach to increase the water pressure in the area,” he said.

Another approach taken to address the problem of water shortage in Kabong, according to Chee, involves converting all water piping system in the area.

“These pipes should be changed also because they are over 40 years. We expect to obtain an allocation of RM599,960 for the conversion of plumbing,” Chee said.

He explained that it was good news as the project will address the problem of water shortages that often occur in the Kabong area before.

“I hope this project will provide facilities to all people in the state constituency of Kabong in line with our desire to provide facilities to all residents regardless of race, religion and political ideology,” he said.

He explained that the implementation of infrastructure projects including water supply had proven the government’s continued commitment to improve the quality of life of the rural people.

Hence, he said, people should be grateful to the Barisan Nasional (BN) under the leadership of Chief Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Abang Openg that is so caring and concerned with the needs of the people in this state.

He also assured that there will be more projects to be implemented in the Kabong area, thus he urged people to continue supporting and cooperating with the government.

Also present were Kabong District Officer Kamaluddin Haji Alkap and Chee’s wife Maryani Mohd Yassin.
