KUALA LUMPUR: The Kafa Class Assessment Test (UPKK) for the written subjects scheduled from Sept 28 to Oct 1 has been cancelled in light of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Seri Dr Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri said the decision was made to ensure the safety and health of the students during the movement control order (MCO).

“The cancellation of the UPKK will not affect the evaluation process of pupils attending Kafa classes from Year 1 to 6 at the primary level.

“The Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (Jakim) will be introducing new methods of pupil evaluation to replace the written test,” he said in a live telecast on his Facebook page here yesterday.

He said Jakim had also decided that the opening of the Kafa school session nationwide would be made based on the decision of the Ministry of Education. – Bernama
