KUCHING: The head coach of Kuching FA, Shahrizan Sahari had to accept the failure of his squad to pass the second round of FA Cup 2018 campaign. Following a 4-0 defeat over Kuala Lumpur in the match held at the Kuala Lumpur Stadium on Saturday night.

“We accept the fact that we lost in the hands of Kuala Lumpur. The squad came down with a group of experienced stars who once represented the national squad and import players,” Sharizan said, when commenting on his team performances adding that Kuching FA lineup comprised only local players and no import stars. According to Shahrizan, what impressed him was that the players tried their best to give a fierce challenge to the hosts (Kuala Lumpur) throughout the game.

“The gap was obvious between the Kuala Lumpur who were reinforced by imported stars and former national players and Kuching FA with only local players in the lineup,” added Shahrizan. However ,he believed it was the best chance for his players to gain experience playing against such great squad. “Our players can learn something from the game and I believe it can be used to face the remaining FAM Cup 2018 matches,” Shahrizan said.
