KUCHING: Koperkasa Cooperatives Sarawak Berhad will hold its Regional Annual General Meetings in the southern, central and northern zones next month to present the cooperative’s finances and select new representatives for its 2024-2026 term.

Its chairman Fathi Hamdali said the first AGM would be held in Zone Three at a hotel in Miri on May 4, involving representatives from Miri, Bintulu, and Limbang.

Subsequently, he said, the second AGM would be held in the Kuching area on May 11 at the Penview Demak Convention Centre, involving representatives from Kuching, Samarahan, Serian and Sri Aman, and then concluding in the Central Zone on May 25th, with representatives from Sibu, Kapit, Mukah, Sarikei and Betong.

“The agenda of these meetings will cover financial matters and proposals brought forward by the representatives.

“After these three regional meetings, there will be elections to select representatives for the 2024-2026 term.

“The elected representatives will gather in Kuching for the Representative Annual General Meeting after May 25th,” he said.

He said this during a press conference at the Koperasi Koperkasa Sarawak Berhad’s main building here last night (Apr 5).

Fathi also noted that dividends to be received by members would be announced during the meeting.

However, he did not disclose further details about the dividend rate received in advance.

“We cannot announce it now, but we can give hints. We have been audited, so we cannot announce it yet.

“Once the AGM is over, we will proceed to make the payments,” he said.

Also present during the press conference were Koperkasa Cooperatives Sarawak Berhad secretary Othman Bujang, treasurer Mohamad Adzman Abdullah and other members of the Koperkasa Board.
