KTB Carnival aims to empower Bintulu tourism

BINTULU: The Kenyalang Tourism Booster (KTB) Carnival aimed at empowering local tourism, homestays and the community here.

The event which was held at Kampung Jepak, here from Oct 27-28 was a creation of Innovative Youth Cooperative Sarawak Berhad (KOBIS) and the Bimp-Eaga Young Entrepreneurs Chamber (BYEC).

In a statement, KOBIS stated that as the event was supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performance Arts, the collaboration reflected a spirit of unity, local engagement, and sustainable tourism, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

“The KTB Carnival is more than an event as it is a pledge to the people, culture and future of Bintulu.

“With its launch in Jepak, here, it provided days of celebration, learning, and growth while setting the stage for a vibrant and sustainable tourism future,” it said.

According to it, at the core of KTB’s vision is the sustainable growth of tourism, achieved through active participation and empowerment of the local communities.

“This inclusive approach ensures that every facet of the town’s population enjoys the benefits, shaping a brighter future for local tourism.

“Aside from that, one of the central features of KTB @Bintulu is the Modern Homestay Workshop, which champions the pivotal role of homestays in Bintulu’s tourism landscape. Its mission is to seamlessly blend the traditional warmth of Bintulu’s hospitality with modern comforts, providing visitors with an unparalleled experience,” it said.

KTB @Bintulu also showcased an array of events designed to celebrate its rich cultural heritage, athletic prowess, and entrepreneurial spirit.
