SIBU: The Sibu Municipal Council (SMC) has launched a new three-kilometre cycling track at Permai Lake Garden yesterday (Feb 3).

The event was officiated by SMC chairman Cr. Clarence Ting Ing Horth and witnessed by 70 Swan Cycling Club members.

“The cycling club’s involvement today is crucial for us to gauge the track’s quality. We are open to feedback and are committed to making necessary improvements,” said Ting.

He said that the council has allocated over RM3 million for upgrades at Permai Lake Garden, which include the new cycling and jogging tracks to enrich public recreational options.

Also present were SMC landscape architect Angela Swin, Swan Cycling Club president Ngu Ing Lee and Cr. Raymond Tiong.
