LAWAS: The Sarawak government will ensure Lawas continues to experience development on par with the rest of Sarawak.

Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan said the development of infrastructure development will continue to be improved, including utilities such as piped water, electricity and telecommunications coverage.

“These efforts, among others, will increase investors’ confidence to choose Lawas as their place of investment,” he said during the swearing-in ceremony for Lawas District Council (MDL) members for the 2023-2025 term recently.

Awang Tengah, who is also Minister of International Trade, Industry and Investment, assured Lawas will enjoy a new airport, seaport, and Mara Junior Science College (MRSM).

“All these will contribute to the development of the Lawas’ economy. As such, collaboration and cooperation at all levels of society is needed to balance development between rural and urban areas which will improve the livelihood of the community as a whole.
