SIBU: The Lions Club of Sibu Dudong (LCSD) donated funds to four local charitable organisations during its fifth anniversary with a dinner at a hotel here on Sunday night (June 11).

The beneficiaries include the Sibu Cancer Society, Temporary Transit Centre (TTG) Sibu, Spinal Cord Injury Association Sibu (SSCIA), and Juma’ani Tuanku Haji Bujang Welfare Complex (Peryatim) Sibu.

LCSD president, Kapitan Connie Loh Ming Hua, presented mock cheques worth RM2,000 each to the charitable bodies.

In her speech, Loh expressed gratitude to all the members for their commitment and dedication throughout the club’s five-year journey.

“We started from scratch, and it hasn’t been an easy journey. But together, we have overcome every obstacle. This unity and support we’ve shown over the past five years is truly remarkable. I want to thank all my members for their friendship, companionship, and for standing together like one big family,” said Loh.

Loh reassured that LCSD, as members of the Lions Club, would continue to serve the community and help those in need to the best of their abilities.
