Learn to understand special needs children, says Tupong rep

KUCHING: Tupong assemblyman Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman has called on the public to learn to understand special needs children so that they can live healthily and happily in the community.

He told the reporters that the community should thus be supporting more programmes like the “Jiwa Murni Programme” which was held for the first time in Matang area at MetroCity Square here today.

“This is a good programme and I would like to thank and congratulate the organiser, Pusat Integrasi Pintar, in collaboration with Ronald McDonald’s House Charity (RMHC) Malaysia, Kawasan Rukun Tetangga (KRT) Taman Matang Jaya, Chong Kia Hoi Realty, Pink Ribbon Support Group Sarawak for having this event.

Besides attending the event, Fazzrudin also took the opportunity to donate his blood and thanked all the blood donors who came to join this activity today.

Additionally, he applauded the organisers for holding programmes to create awareness among the community about the special needs children, for example those who have autism.

“We should be supporting this type of programme in order to provide support for special needs children like them and learn to understand what is autism so that we can give our support and backing to the autistic children in order to help them blend into our society.

“We need to understand them in order for us to be able to help them,” he added.

Among those present were the founder and chief executive officer (CEO) of Pusat Integrasi Pintar Chai Kang Hui and the liaison officer for programme in Sarawak for RMHC Malaysia Lyna Doll.
