KUCHING: Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah expressed his hope that four full ministerial posts will be maintained and given to Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) in the new Cabinet line-up.

In stating this, the Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts (MTCP) Minister pointed out that in the last Cabinet line-up, four of the party’s MPs were given full ministerial posts.

“We know that establishing a Cabinet while satisfying all the parties that are in the unity government is a very heavy task for the Prime Minister (Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim).

“Therefore, despite the Cabinet being trimmed down, it is hoped that we still maintain the four posts for Sarawak. If we can still maintain the four posts, of course it will be good.

“For that, I believe that the Prime Minister will not forget the hopes of GPS leaders and the Sarawak government,” he said.

For the record, it is reported that Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is set to unveil a partial Cabinet line-up on today (Dec 2).

He is expected to announce his Cabinet today ‘in the late afternoon’ between 4pm and 5pm on Friday.

It was also understood that Anwar would announce the two deputy prime ministers.

However, not all portfolios would be announced as negotiations with party heads are still ongoing.
