MIRI: A 60-year-old man was suspected to have died from rabies on Saturday morning.
Miri police chief ACP Lim Meng Seng when contacted yesterday said a police team rushed to a house at Tudan Desaras Phase 6 on Saturday in response to a distress call at 11.05am.
“The man was reported to have fallen unconscious inside the house,” said Lim.
He added that preliminary investigations revealed that the man identified as Stephen Kolok was bitten by a stray dog on April 12.
“He was supposed to go to the Miri Hospital today (April 21),” he said.
Stephen’s remains have been taken to Miri Hospital morgue for a post mortem.
The case has been classified as sudden death.
