MIRI: A 43-year-old man suspected of drug possession was detained early yesterday morning.
Miri police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah said the suspect, a local, was arrested inside a Proton Waja car at 6.30am behind a laundry premise in Pelita Commercial Centre.
After searching his car, police recovered eight packets believed to contain illegal substances ketamine and ecstasy weighing at 38.55g with a street value of RM1,750.
Lim added the suspect, who also tested positive for drugs, is currently being detained under police custody to facilitate their probe into the case.
The man is being investigated under Section 39A (2) and Section 15 (1) (a) of the Dangerous Drugs 1952.
