MIRI: A 24-year-old man was detained on Saturday night for stealing three cans of infant formula milk powder valued at RM294 from a premises in Miri Times Square.
The incident was reported to have occurred around 2pm on Saturday (Sept 11) and was captured on closed-circuit television (CCTV).
On that day, the suspect was spotted walking into the premises around 2pm and went straight to where the items were placed.
He then left the premises in a hurry and went into a car, a white Perodua Viva.
A police report was then immediately lodged.
According to Miri Police chief ACP Hakemal Hawari, acting on the report lodged, a team of Miri Criminal Investigation Department (CID) picked up the suspect from a house in Jalan Maigold Taman Desa Senadin around 8pm that same day.
The case is being investigated under Section 380 of the Penal Code.
