KUCHING: A foreigner, who pleaded guilty to overstaying in the country, was fined RM10,000 in default two months in jail today (June 30).
The court meted out the sentence on Sariantan after he pleaded guilty under Section 15(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63.
However, as Puncak Borneo Prison is still undergoing lockdown orders, he was ordered to be detained at Satok Police Station.
He was arrested at 12pm at a prawn fishing centre near Tabuan Laru here on June 19.
