Marc Jacobs International is joining forces with and Bedrock Manufacturing to create a new series of watches.

The US fashion and lifestyle label and the manufacturing giant, which is parent company to the luxury goods brands Shinola and Filson, will unveil their new series of timepieces this October.

“We are excited to partner with a company that shares our commitment to detail and quality,” said Eric Marechalle, CEO of Marc Jacobs International, in a statement. “Through Marc’s unique design lens and Bedrock’s well-established expertise in craftsmanship, we look forward to a new chapter of Marc Jacobs Watches.”

The Marc Jacobs brand has been focusing on watches for some time now, having launched its first-ever touchscreen smartwatch, ‘The Riley,’ last June. The model, which already existed as an analogue and hybrid timepiece in several variations, comes in three different styles and features a customisable watch face. The label also boasts an extensive analogue watch collection.

But it isn’t just Marc Jacobs honing in on timepieces recently — this week saw New York-based brand Alice + Olivia unveil its new collaborative collection with Casio G-Shock, while British label Ted Baker is set to release a range of branded timepieces with Timex later this year. – Relaxnews
