KUCHING: Deputy Chief Minister, Tan Sri Dr James Jemut Masing said he was dismayed by the brain drain of Sarawakians when it comes to IT skills.

“This IDECS conference showed me that Sarawakians are all over the world, in terms of contributing to IT skills, but not in Sarawak! Why?

Where did we go wrong? It is for us to correct the wrong and make it right,” he added.

IDECS 2017 held from 3-4 April at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) attracted about 1,500 delegates from Asean countries.

Masing said Chief Minister, Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg has shown us the way to move forward into the digital economy era.

“Hopefully, soon we will be flying among the ‘cloud’, instead of walking on the ground as we have done in the past,” he added.
