“The publication of this travelogue is making its debut in 2024 with the aim of making the audience know more about the Kaamatan festival while exploring the history of several heritage villages and cultural villages.

“It is a travelogue in the dynamic exploration of Tadau Ka’amatan, through a combination of travel vlogs, immersive documentaries, meticulously recorded data and live coverage,” TVS said in a statement.

“The Ka’amatan Festival is a rice harvest festival celebrated in Sabah and in the Federal Territory of Labuan. Since time immemorial it has been a traditional practice of the Sabah natives in particular, Kadazandusun and Murut to hold an annual harvest festival.”

The series seeks to tell interesting places and foods that are in Sabah and focuses on the history of the location, bobohizan, Magavau, preparation of Unduk Ngadau and cultural events.

“A very important part in the Ka’amatan Festival is the Magavau ceremony which means to restore what has been lost by any means.

“The Magavau ceremony refers to the heavy duty of the Bobohizan to find and rescue and bring home the lost, stolen or lost Bambaazon. Among the popular dishes during this festival are tapai, butod, bambangan pickles, hinava, linopot rice, ambuyat, Bosou, tuhau and pinasakan.

“This travelogue is presented in Malay, promising viewers a trip full of excitement and exploring Ka’amatan in the month of May.”
