KUCHING: The Krokop 10 Central Market needs improvement to be in line with Covid-19 standard operating procedure (SOP) compliance.

Transport Minister Datuk Lee Kim Shin paid a visit to the market with Miri City Council (MCC) to review SOP compliance on Thursday (March 18).

Lee, who is minister in charge of the Miri Division Disaster Management Committee (DDMC), requested MCC to provide a plan to determine the flow of traffic in the market while waiting for upgrading work to be done.

He was joined by the committee chairman/acting Miri Resident Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusuf, acting Miri District officer, Miri Health officer, council secretary as well as other enforcement agencies.

Miri DDMC had identified two new Covid-19 clusters, namely the Sena Cluster and Jalan Merpati Cluster, caused by social gathering and workplace.

“Social activities (social gatherings) are not allowed to be organised in red zones.

“This is in line with the conditional movement control order imposed by the state government, which was updated on March 15,” said Lee.
