KUCHING: The Ministry of Works has channelled a total of RM454,140 to the Palestinian People’s Humanitarian Fund.

According to its minister, Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi said the donations were collected from among the ministry and the private sectors.

“Like other Malaysians, the Ministry of Works (KKR) also felt saddened by the tragedy that befell the Palestinian people.

“Today, I along with the people of KKR handed over the donations collected by this ministry and the private sector to the Palestinian People’s Humanitarian Fund amounting to RM454,140,” he said through a Facebook posting on his Facebook page on Wednesday.

He added that the fund is an initiative of the Government through the Public Service Department (PSD) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (KLN).

“Thank you for all your generosity. Only God can repay all good deeds.

“I also contributed a month’s salary as a minister to this fund. Hopefully this small donation will be able to help ease the burden of the Palestinian people who are severely affected by the war in the country,” he added.
