MIRI: An elderly man who was reported missing by his family members last Thursday evening (13 Sept) at Sungai Entulang, Bakong near here was found by team members of Entulang Volunteer Fire Brigade.

The man identified as Jandah Luang,88, was found by the PBS team around 6.30am yesterday about five kilometres from his longhouse, Rumah Brauh, Sungai Entulang, Bakong.

Jandah was found sitting inside a hut near the longhouse before he was found.

He was later taken to Bekenu Health Clinic for a medical check-up as he was a bit weak when found.

Prior to the incident, Jandah was reported to have gone out to fish near the longhouse but failed to return home which prompted his family to launch a search and rescue operation on Thursday night.

After Lopeng BOMBA was alerted of the incident it responded by deploying a team of 10 firefighters to the location.

According to Miri Fire and Rescue Department chief, Supt Law Poh Kiong in a statement, a Search and Rescue (SAR) operation was immediately activated after they received a call around 7.30pm.
