KUCHING: Datuk Lukanisman Awang Sauni has strongly condemned the recent incident of hurling Molotov cocktails at the premises of KK Mart in Jalan Satok here.

The deputy Youth chief of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) said such extreme actions are shocking and should not occur in Sarawak.

“An immediate investigation should be conducted to apprehend those responsible.

“Public cooperation is crucial in providing information to the police.

“Most importantly, I urge the multi-ethnic and multi-religious community in Sarawak to remain calm and mature in understanding the current issue related to the printing of the word Allah on socks sold at KK Mart stores,” he said in a statement.

He pointed out that such threats should not be taken lightly or emulated from incidents in Peninsular Malaysia.

“Therefore, I emphasise that appropriate legal action be taken against the perpetrators promptly.

“There is no room for compromise for groups that intentionally incite tension and fear among people of different religions and ethnicities.

“I advise Sarawakians not to trivialise this incident and to collectively ensure that such extreme actions do not become a culture in addressing current issues.

“Sarawak is a state that promotes peace, harmony, prosperity and celebrates diversity.

“The community must unite and elevate their thinking to prioritise unity and stability as the foundation of the nation’s strength,” he said.
