Money in SPayGlobal remain safe

KUCHING: Sarawak’s e-wallet application, SPayGlobal, has confirmed that the fire incident happened at Wisma Bapa Malaysia, has interrupted its service from 7:45pm yesterday.

“Our business continuity team has since responded immediately to the incident. At the same time, our technical team has commenced the process of disaster recovery,” it said in a Facebook post today.

However, it has assured the users and merchants that their money in SPayGlobal would remain safe.

“We expect the key functions of SPayGlobal to be restored by midnight (today),” it added.

It was reported that the Sarawak Information Systems Sdn Bhd team was only allowed to enter the server room at 5pm today.

State Economic Planning Unit director Datuk Dr Muhammad Abdullah Zaidel told The Borneo Post that they had started performing verification checks to ensure all system’s data are in order before resuming service.
