SIBU: The annual Mooncake Festival gathering for residents of Jalan Diong Kik area has been set for 6.30pm this Wednesday at Shiun Daw Methodist Church, Bukit Assek here.
This event, originally planned for Sept 21 at SJKC Dung Sang basketball Court, was postponed due to haze and the closure of schools.
In previous years, the event attracted up to 700 folks from nearby Deshon Road and Oya Road as well as pupils of Dung Sang and church goers of Shiuan Daw Methodist Church.
Kapitan Lau Kiu Seng is the patron of the event jointly organised by the JKKK Jalan Diong Kik, SJKC Dung Sang and Shiuan Daw Methodist Church.
To be held for the 10th consecutive year, the event programme would include wushu performances, a health dance, karaoke singing, distribution of the mooncakes and lucky draws, said organising chairman David Tie.
Children below 12 years have to register on arrival at the Diong Kik Garden in order to get their lanterns.
