KUCHING: Members of the public should be supportive towards the development brought by the local council, said Minister of Local Government and Housing, Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian. Sim added that the public mindset should be as good as the Kuching South City Council (MBKS) and likewise, in order to benefit from the development that is being implemented.

“I also hope that the people of Kuching will become the council’s eyes and ears, and they must also have the sense of ownership of the public properties that were built for them,” he said when attending the MBKS Christmas Gathering held at MBKS lobby here yesterday.

Sim disclosed that MBKS would continue to implement the peoplecentric policies and there would be more changes to come in the future. He added that during this season of giving, it was important to spread the joy to the people as the kind gesture would eventually be returned.

“I also like to urge the people of Kuching to work together with MBKS, not just a one-way communication but two-way communication. “At the same time, MBKS staff should be proud to serve the largest local council in Kuching, which is the City of Unity,” said Sim.
