KUCHING: Over 1,000 delegates are set to attend the special 2023 Kuching Zone Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Convention at the Hikmah Exchange Event Centre tomorrow (Sept 23).
The attendees include members from the party’s central body, as well as its Women’s and Youth divisions.
Additionally, leaders from 26 local PBB branches, ranging from PBB Opar to PBB Gedong, will also join.
Premier and PBB president Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, will address the convention in the afternoon.
Similarly, Deputy Prime Minister and PBB senior vice-president, Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, will give a speech.
Fadillah is also the organising chairman of this one-day convention, running from 7.30 am to 3 pm.
Earlier, on Sept 2, Abang Johari in a press conference said the PBB Convention will put more emphasis on explaining the state’s new economic policy.
“Key topics will include carbon trading and the hydrogen-based economy,” he said.
Moreover, environmental enhancement through innovative waste-to-energy methods will also be highlighted.
Besides Kuching, the convention also will be held in Betong on Oct 8, Sibu on Oct 29, and Bintulu on Nov 11, under the theme ‘PBB: Pillar of Stability, Progress, and Prosperity for Sarawak’.
