PUSA: The construction of new mosques and suraus in Beting Maro constituency, which has not yet started, will be continuously monitored and followed up on, according its assemblyman Razaili Gapor.

These, he said, included the mosque in Kampung Semarang, as well as mosques in Kampung Spinang, Batang Maro, Tambak, and three other new suraus.

Razaili stated that all related issues, including the approval of additional funding from the government, are being pursued and that he himself will monitor and take further action to ensure that the projects proceed smoothly.

“We hope that everyone will be committed to considering and approving the projects promptly and appropriately so that the construction of all new mosques and suraus in DUN Beting Maro can proceed smoothly,” he said during the Ihya Ramadan tour at Masjid Rahmaniah here yesterday.

He explained that most of the proposed projects required additional costs due to the rise in building material prices.

During a breaking of fast ceremony in Pusa, Razaili donated cash and dates to 60 asnaf from Kampung Hilir, Tengah, and Hulu Pusa.

Earlier, he stated that Ramadan, which is characterised as a madrasah, is the prime of all months and provides an opportunity for Muslims to improve their worship and strengthen their religious beliefs.

“This is the best platform for the formation of the character and personality of Muslims through religious programmes and activities.

“Ramadan, as a starting point, can transform society, especially young people, towards a better path,” he said.

Therefore, Razaili urged for religious programmes and activities and mosque and surau enlightenment to continue and be multiplied throughout Ramadan.

He also hoped that the practice of giving among the community would be revived, creating a spirit of unity and strong values of harmony.

“Alhamdulillah, in this holy month, we are encouraged to increase our charitable activities because, consciously or unconsciously, this culture has become a habit in our society with the aim of sharing blessings.
