Mosque receives initial aid of RM14,000

MUKAH: Two local Islamic-based organisations and individuals here contributed a total of RM14,000 to Masjid Al-Amin, Kampung Semop, Daro near here on Friday (Aug 20) as initial aid to the mosque which was gutted by fire on Aug 11.

The contributions were from Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak (TBS) Mukah branch and the Mukah District Police Headquarters (IPD) Surau Darul Husna as well as generous individuals.

TBS Mukah branch head, Osman Immun handed over the contributions to Masjid Al-Amin’s acting chairman, Bahrin Saili at a multipurpose hall in Kampung Semop, Daro.

Community leader, Semop Kamri Tahir, witnessed the simple ceremony.

Osman said a total of RM5,100 was raised by Mukah IPD Surau Darul Husna from Aug 13 to 20.

He added the balance of RM8,900 was from TBS Mukah branch  while Badan Sukarelawan Dakwah Halus (BSDH) contributed bottled drinks and rice to the mosque for its activities.

“The contributions are initial aid in helping to build a temporary religious centre for Masjid Al-Amin,” he said.

Mukah IPD Surau Darul Husna chairman, Insp Mohamad Haslee Shafiee and Sheikh Zaman Piee from BSDH also attended the event.
