MELAKA:- “This Syawal has lost its meaning…I miss him very much, he’s my first child and the backbone of our family,” lamented Asiah Basiron whose son Muhd Akmal Sharul Nizam Ab Rahim, 22, has been missing for eight months.

The mother of six said her son did not return home after leaving for work at a solar factory in Tanjung Minyak here on October 3 last year.

Muhd Akmal Sharul Nizam was believed to have followed a man who introduced himself as the personal driver to a girl whom he met on Facebook, she added.

Asiah, 45, who is residing in Kampung Pulau Gadong, Klebang here said the family had lodged three police reports in connection with her son’s disappearance since last October besides using other means to find him including through the use of Islamic treatment.

“He would normally make preparations for Syawal like buying new clothes for his younger siblings and helping out with the family’s expenses since his father is only a contract worker,” she said when met at her house today.

Asiah also pleaded for the public’s help to find Muhd Akmal Sharul Nizam and those with any information can contact to contact her at 017-6226025.

Meanwhile Melaka Tengah district police chief ACP Afzanizar Ahmad confirmed the police had received three reports in connection with Muhd Akmal Sharul Nizam’s disappearance adding that investigation was still underway. – Bernama
