Motorcyclist dies in crash

MIRI: A 52 year-old man was killed after being thrown off his motorcycle when it skidded and crashed at Jalan Bukit Peninjau here on Wednesday.

The victim reportedly landed inside a drain in the 5.30pm incident.

Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief, Superintendent Alexson Naga Chabu said the rider, identified as Linggang Lium, died on the spot due to severe injuries.

It is learnt that the victim was on his way to Jalan Miri-Bintulu from Bakong.

His body was taken to Miri Hospital for post-mortem.
