MUKAH: A head-on collision involving a motorcycle and a four-wheel drive vehicle at KM9 Jalan Selangau-Mukah on Sunday (July 19) claimed the life of a motorcyclist.
The victim was identified as Lusei Lejau, 46, from Rumah Johny, Bukit Dinding, KM9, Jalan Selangau-Mukah.
The driver of a Toyota Hilux, Bet Jelui, 63, from Kampung Mateding Baru, Jalan Mukah-Balingian and his passenger were unhurt.
Mukah district police chief DSP Jimmy Panyau in a statement via WhatsApp on Sunday (July 19) said after receiving a call at 1.18pm, initial investigation revealed that the Toyota Hilux was travelling from Selangau to Mukah when a motorcycle from the opposite direction entered another lane and collided head-on.
He said the victim was pronounced dead at the scene by a paramedic of Selangau Clinic, and the body was taken to Mukah Hospital for post-mortem.
