SERIAN: Police have arrested two drivers for their alleged involvement in an argument at a traffic light junction near Taman Community here.

The incident, captured in a nine-second video clip on Nov 14, showed a confrontation between a Toyota Avanza driver and a Proton Saga driver.

The clip, which went viral on WhatsApp, depicted a heated argument with both individuals brandishing a knife and a machete.

Serian OCPD DSP Aswandy Anis, who confirmed the case, said they had received a police report regarding the incident.

“Both suspects have been arrested to facilitate investigations,” he said.

He noted that the act of carrying dangerous weapons is a punishable offence under the Corrosive and Explosive Substances and Offensive Weapons Act 1958.

DSP Aswandy urged the public to exercise consideration and adhere to road regulations, as well as avoid causing inconvenience or annoyance to others.

Strict actions would be taken against individuals who deliberately disrupt the harmony within the community.
