SIBU: Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing has called on Peneresa Rampa Menua 4×4 Motor Sports Club to organise more activities involving youth in Sarawak, particularly in Sarikei.

Tiong said that organising extreme sports can lead young individuals towards healthier lifestyles and away from negative influences.

“Apart from challenging outdoor activities, emphasis should also be given to programmes that provide benefits and facilities to members, aligning with the true purpose of the establishment.

“Thereby uniting individuals interested in engaging in extreme sports and driving four-wheel vehicles,” he said in his text speech read by his representative, Political Secretary to Premier of Sarawak, Joshua Ting Fu Ying, at the club annual dinner at a renowned hotel here last night (Apr 27).

Tiong also urged all existing clubs to diversify activities or products related to extreme sports that can be used as tourist attractions.

“Aside from turning hobbies into a source of income, it can also promote Sarikei specifically and Sarawak in general as a tourist destination, not only to local tourists but also to international ones.
