KUCHING: A thirteen-member delegation consisting of Datuk Liwan Lagang, the Assistant Minister for Water Supply; Dato Ir Alice Jawan Empaling, the Ministry of Utilities Permanent Secretary and representatives from the Ministry of Utilities; Jabatan Bekalan Air Luar Bandar, Kuching Water Board, Sibu Water Board and LAKU Management Sdn. Bhd. led by the Minister of Utilities Dato Sri Dr. Stephen Rundi Utom is attending the World Water Congress & Exhibition 2018 in Tokyo from 16th to 21st September 2018, yesterday’s press release stated.

The World Water Congress & Exhibition 2108 is a biennual event organised by International Water Association (IWA) which brings together more than 5500 water, environment and related professionals from over 100 countries to present and discuss matters related to water management. This is a global event that covers the entire water cycle for water professionals.

The theme for this year’s congress is Shaping Our Water Future with 187 sessions, 88 technical sessions, 52 workshops, 9 keynote addresses and 6 leadership forums covering topics on pioneering science, technological innovation and the leading practices from all over the world to shape the transformation in water management globally.

The delegates are tasked to learn and bring back new insights, technologies and best practices that are applicable to the water supply industry in the State to improve the water supplies in Sarawak, the press release concluded.
