KANOWIT: The Pakatan Harapan (PH) government’s initiative to introduce the Village Community Management Councils (MPKKs) in the state has  hidden agenda, said Ngemah assemblyman Alexander Vincent.

“The MPKK is seen more in the politics of the PH government as their eyes and ears.

“That is why they (PH) are so keen to set up the MPKK here in an attempt to usurp the state from the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government.

“The establishment (MPKK) has a ‘purpose’ and they (PH) are not sincere about it,” he said at a People’s Leaders’ Council organised by the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Ngemah Branch in Rumah Kendawang, Ulu Tuah last Saturday.

Also present were Machan assemblyman Allan Siden Gramong, PBB Ngemah branch chairman Luang Baring, Tuai Rumah Kendawang Baring and other invited guests.

Alexander mentioned that the existing Village Security and Development Committee (JKKK) system used all this while is far more convenient for the people.

“What do they want to establish it here for? It is clear that PH has an agenda in introducing the MPKK in Sarawak,” he added.

He mentioned that the PH government had always come up with new ideas in reforming the country’s administration but despite its implementation, they did not think it was worth it.

He stated that any reforms made would not be wrong but the federal government should consider the effect and impact towards the people and most importantly, not to compromise the peace and security of the country.

Alexander, meanwhile, urged the locals to continue to support GPS in the upcoming state election.

He said that under the leadership of chief minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg, many development plans have been devised for the people of the state.

“Although many projects or allocations in the state have been cancelled by the PH government, the GPS government under Abang Johari will continue it with our own funds.

“GPS does not want to disappoint the people, so Abang Johari is willing to go on with the projects for the people of Sarawak,” he said.
