KUCHING: The Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) aims to weed out illegal gambling activities under its jurisdiction.
Its chairman, Lo Khere Chiang said he was fortunate as the Padawan district police were also committed to the same cause.
“Illegal gambling is quite rampant in areas under MPP. Apart from selling of illegal 4D numbers, there are fish machines. However, the council is committed to eradicating any illegal gambling activities in this district.
“Padawan district police chief, Supt Aidil Bolhassan has already said fish machines are associated with illegal gambling. Therefore, I appeal to the public not to carry out any such activities in MPP’s area,” said the Batu Kitang assemblyman in a press statement here.
He also noted that should there be any such activities, the Padawan district police would raid and not hesitate to arrest those involved.
Lo stressed that the police chief’s stern warning must be taken seriously.
“Should the public have any information regarding any illegal activities in MPP’s area, call IPD Padawan hotline at 082-862233,” he said.
