KUALA LUMPUR: The top management and staff of the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) today conveyed their Chinese New Year greetings in a prerecorded video ahead of the festive celebrations on Saturday (Feb 10).

Bernama chairman Datuk Seri Wong Chun Wai expressed his wishes for good health, prosperity and happiness in the Year of the Dragon during the video shoot held at Wisma Bernama.

“May 2024 bring you an abundance of prosperity, happiness and health. Gong Xi Fa Cai!” he told Bernama when met after the video shoot.

The video session also featured Bernama editor-in-chief Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin (assuming the duties of the chief executive officer) and deputy editor-in-chief (Economic News Service) Nasriah Darus, who shared their festive wishes.

“Gong Xi Fa Cai! Happy Chinese New Year to all Bernama staff celebrating the Lunar New Year and may you have a joyous celebration with your beloved families. Drive safe when returning to your hometowns,” said Nur-ul Afida.

“Happy Chinese New Year! May the Year of the Dragon be filled with joy and happiness. Gong Xi Fa Cai to my friends in Bernama. May we continue to be blessed with prosperity and good health this year,” said Nasriah.

Foreign News Service executive editor Ravichandran D. J. Paul expressed his hope for renewed vigour in the Year of the Dragon.

“I wish my colleagues who are celebrating the Chinese New Year new beginnings in every aspect of their life and a happier year ahead,” he added.

English sub-editor (Economic News Service) Thean Lee Cheng and senior customer service executive Liew Kok Ling, echoed the sentiments, wishing for a peaceful and progressive year ahead for all celebrating the Lunar New Year.
