BINTULU: Nearly 10,000 people braved the rain on Sunday night to watch the ‘Kamek Sayang Sarawak’ concert which was held in conjunction with the Sarawak Day celebration.
The concert featured well-known local artistes from both Sarawak and Peninsular Malaysia, such as Hafiz Suip, Baby Shima and Melissa Francis.
Also present were Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg and wife Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tuanku Bujang , state Cabinet ministers and others.
The concert was part of the seven events organised in conjunction with Sarawak Day.
Other events include Sarawak E-Sports, Sarawak Day Run, thanksgiving prayer, Sarawak Day exhibition and Love Sarawak through History, and the Sarawak Day celebration rally which is the main event.
The concert, which was divided into two segments, kicked off at 4pm and ended at 11.15pm with a firework display.
