Bintangor fire station

THE construction for the replacement of the existing Bintangor fire station is scheduled for completion by end of this year.

Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas who said this added that the physical progress of the construction works for two new fire stations, namely at Sibu Jaya, Sibu and Belaga were progressing at 99 percent and 89 percent respectively.

“Whereas the fire station at Batu Niah, Miri has officially started its operation on June 1 this year,” he said when delivering the Ministry of Local Government and Housing (MLGH) winding-up speech during the DUN sitting today.

“For the fire station at Selangau in Sibu, it also started its operation on July 1 this year,” he said.

With regards to the centralised sewerage systems, the Kuching Centralised Sewerage System, Package Two, covering Kampung Gita, parts of Jalan Matang, Jalan Tun Abdul Rahman Yaakub and Padungan is scheduled to be completed by Dec 7, 2023, said Uggah.

“While the implementation of Miri Centralised Sewerage System, Phase 1 started in March 30, 2017,” he said.

The project is scheduled to be completed by Aug 30 next year, he pointed out.

“The decommissioning of existing septic tanks in the Central Business District is scheduled to commence in March next year,” the deputy chief minister said.
