BINTULU: Upgrades to the Red’s Hotel are expected to elevate guests’ experience with innovative features incorporated in its renovation recently.

Red’s Hotel director Bong Jat Chung said these enhancements and improvements specifically target the comfort and needs of guests throughout their stay.

He said the hotel now provides premium sleeping experiences in both its elegant wing and matured wing to cater for customers across different backgrounds.

“With the completion of our renovation in September this year, the Red’s Hotel now has a new appearance both external and interior design. We have also introduced a digital self-check-in and check-out kiosk in our lobby.

“This smart check-in and check-out system is an effort to move into the digitalisation era thus making Red’s Hotel as one of the first hotels in Bintulu to adopt this technology.

“It is also in support of our Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg’s call upon Sarawakians to mobilise the digital economy to achieve the target of becoming a high-income state by the year 2030,” he said.

He made these remarks during the grand opening of Red’s Hotel on Wednesday (Nov 15).

Bong pointed out that the digital self-check in and check-out kiosk promises an entirely new and seamless experience for their guests.

He said it not only enhances guests’ experience, but also improves the hotel’s efficiency in streaming operations as guests have the independence and convenience of doing their own check-in, check-out, and payments.

“With the integration of this technology in the hotel, our staff can focus more on daily operations and maintenance to give our guests better stay experiences,” he said.

As the Red’s Hotel embraces new technology and facilities to carry out human tasks, Bong expressed hope for this to have positive impacts on guests and society.

“The digital kiosk is very user-friendly, and it provides easy step by step instructions from booking to payment on its screen for guests. Of course, our staff will assist guests who are experiencing this for the first time,” he said.

Bong explained that the digital kiosk will generate and provide a personalised digital password for guests to enter the hotel’s main entrance and their designated room for the duration of their stay.

“This means we are moving away from the traditional hotel card key system to keyless system with the generation of a personalised password for each guest,” he said.

The Red’s Hotel was established in 2016 following Bong’s retirement as a government servant in the year 2014.

Starting with 12 rooms, the Red’s Hotel located at Bintulu Sentral has expanded to a total of 31 rooms equipped with five-star quality bedding experience, heavy rain showers system and other amenities.
