MIRI: Police yesterday arrested a 21-year-old rape suspect at Krokop near here in conjunction with a report lodged by a 17-year-old girl.T he complainant told police that she had been raped after she fell unconscious while drunk in a house at Permyjaya on Thursday night.
Earlier on, a girl friend brought her to the house at about 8.30pm.
There, they met some friends and drank alcohol until the complainant was drunk and fell unconscious. The complainant said she woke up to find herself naked in one of the bedrooms in the house and suffering from pain in her private parts.
District Police Chief, Superintendent Stanley Jonathan Ringgit confirmed that the complainant had a lodged a police report. He said the suspect would be detained for further investigations.
